spring practice started a single game last fall. That's why it would not be surpris- ing to see the Nittany Lions make fre- quent use of their 4-2-5 defensive set this fall. There's no lack of talent at these spots, but the Lions do lack game experience, and that will be defensive coordinator Brent Pry's biggest problem to overcome. Competition in preseason practice at the two box linebacker positions will come from Cam Brown, Jake Cooper, Jan John- son, Ellis Brooks, Micah Parsons, Jesse Luketa and even Farmer. Parsons (Will OLB) and Brown (MLB) have a good chance to start at the box linebacker spots this fall, although nothing appears certain heading into preseason camp. Farmer should retain his starting posi- tion at the Sam OLB spot. Depth here will come from Jarvis Miller, Brelin Fai- son-Walden and converted wideout Dae'Lun Darien.
