EXPECTED STRENGTHS Eleven o>en- sive players with starting experience are back this fall, so there's a lot of potential here. Peyton Ramsey completed 65.3 percent of his passes while sharing the quarterback spot with the since-gradu- ated Richard Lagow, but the sophomore might have trouble holding onto the job, with Indiana welcoming January enrollee Mike Penix and Brandon Dawkins, a graduate transfer from Arizona. No mat- ter which of those three contenders wins the job, he will have two very good re- ceivers at his disposal in Nick Westbrook and J-Shun Harris. In the back Brohm last year. If the Boilermakers are able to sustain their success, it will be that much harder for Indiana to scrape together the six wins it needs to become bowl-eligible. Allen asked for patience this spring, saying, "It will take time, but I love the direction we're going."
