56 THE WOLVERINE AUGUST 2018 BY BRANDON BROWN M ichigan's annual BBQ at The Big House is always one of the big- gest recruiting events of the year, and 2018 is no different. U-M is expected to host more than 30 prospects — from the 2019, 2020, 2021 and even the 2022 classes — July 28 for food, fun and football with friends and family. The following are prospects and commitments that are expected to attend the event: 2019 PROSPECTS • Fairfield (Ohio) High three-star tight end Erick All — Michigan commit • Cincinnati Moeller three-star offen- sive guard Zach Carpenter — Michigan commit • Louisville (Ky.) Buckingham Brown & Nichols inside linebacker Tyler Martin A PEEK AT THE 2020 CLASS U-M started filling its 2020 class with the commitment of Columbus (Ohio) Northland three-star wide receiver Ka- lil Branham June 19, and then Belleville (Mich.) High three-star cornerback An- dre Seldon and Aurora (Ill.) West Au- rora four-star defensive tackle Denver Warren joined him within two weeks. Seldon, the No. 26 cornerback in the country according to Rivals.com, plans to recruit players to join him in Ann Arbor, and has his eyes on prospects from Michigan and Ohio. "I'm definitely going to try to bring some heat from Michigan and the state of Ohio," Seldon said. His target list includes Dublin (Ohio) Coffman four-star running back Mike Drennen, Detroit Martin Luther King four-star wide receiver Rashan Williams, and four-star safety Makari Paige and three-star inside linebacker Cornell Wheeler of West Bloomfield (Mich.) High. All four of those prospects hold an offer from U-M, and each of them seem to be extremely high on the Wolverines as their junior seasons approach. Drennen, Rivals.com's No. 14 run- ning back and No. 144 overall prospect nationally, especially, despite being from Ohio, seems to be the highest on U-M. The 5-11, 170-pounder is a big fan of Jim Harbaugh and his dad is as well. Mom, on the other hand, is a Buckeyes fan and will be trying to con- vince her son to stay closer to home. Wheeler, the No. 7 player in Michi- gan and No. 8 inside linebacker nationally per Rivals.com, is also very high on the Wolverines. The 6-0, 229-pounder plays for a former Wolverine in Ron Bellamy at West Bloomfield and takes the field with Paige and 2021 teammate Donovan Edwards, who also has a Michigan offer, making the recruitment of all of them something to keep an eye on. "I'd say Michigan is recruiting me at about a nine," he said in May. "They always come to the school and check on my teammates and me. We've visited them a lot, too. It just feels like home at Michigan. I feel like it's a good thing with them right now. "I like Michigan a lot, and I grew up a fan. A lot of guys I knew when I was younger are at Michigan like Josh Ross. There's always been a closeness, and Michigan has just al- ways been there for me."   MICHIGAN RECRUITING BBQ At The Big House Again Looks Loaded Josh Sanguinetti, a four-star cornerback from Fort Lauderdale (Fla.)
