Kevin is a guy that has a skill set that will be able to contribute offensively for us, but at the same time be a strong, big body that will be capable and very reliable on the defensive side. Honors & Awards: Named to the AllWest Regional Team in 2010-11 Was a member of gold medal-winning Team USA at the IIHF World Under-18 Championship in 2008-09. Assistant coach Brian Wiseman: A very solid, reliable forward from last year that really came on in the last half of the year. Assistant coach Billy Powers: Lee Moffie really came on in the second half a year ago. He came into Michigan as a kid that could contribute offensively from the blue line, and it really showed last year in the second half. He really jumpstarted our power play and scored some key goals down the stretch in the playoffs. Im sure Lee is walking in here, based on the way he finished last year, with confidence that couldnt be any higher. I think as a junior, hes looking to be an impact player. Honors & Awards: Received Academic All-Big Ten honors and the University of Michigan Athletic Academic Achievement award in 2010-11 Also received the University of Michigan Athletic Academic Achievement award in 2009-10. He brings that work ethic and that quickness night in, night out and day in, day out in our practices. Assistant coach Billy Powers: Mac came to us a year ago out of prep school an offensive defenseman, great feet, powerful skater. I think, as the year wore on last year, he was another guy that played his best hockey in the second half. I think he had adjusted to college hockey pace and systems, and really started to show who Mac Bennett is, and I know that hes had a terrific spring and summer. Hes a guy that I think will bring people out of their seats this year.
