PHOTO COURTESY RIVALS.COM Commitment Updates Games played Sept. 28-29 unless otherwise noted • Notre Dame safety commit Kyle Hamilton is one of the hottest prospects in the country through the early part of his senior season. 247Sports re- cently bumped him up to the No. 22 overall player in the country, and several programs have begun circling back to the longtime Irish pledge. According to Hamilton, Ohio State, LSU and in- state Georgia have all picked up their pursuit of him. Hamilton told Blue & Gold Illustrated that while he is cordial to the coaches contacting him, he is fully committed to Notre Dame and has no plans to visit any other programs prior to signing with Notre Dame. Blue & Gold Illustrated football ana- lyst Bryan Driskell ranks Hamilton as the No. 2 player in Notre Dame's 18-man class. • On Oct. 1, Notre Dame extended an offer to Jaxon Smith-Njigba, a four-star wide receiver in the class of 2020 from Rockwall (Texas) High. Smith- Njigba, the No. 36 wide receiver and No. 195 over- all player in the nation according to Rivals, said the offer from the Irish was one he'd been waiting to receive since visiting South Bend over the summer and participating in a skills camp. Receivers coach DelVaughn Alexander had been communicating with Smith-Njigba since the visit and promised him an offer was on the way. Now that it's been delivered, the four-star said he's hopeful he can make it to campus this fall and will definitely be back in the spring for a visit. • Following his visit to Notre Dame for the Stan- ford game, 2021 offensive tackle Rocco Spindler announced that he had received an offer from the Irish, adding to a list that already included Ohio State and Michigan. The Clarkston (Mich.) High prospect is an early standout in the class of 2021, already measuring 6-4, 250 pounds as just a sophomore in high school. • Kaden Johnson, a four-star outside linebacker in the class of 2020, will visit Notre Dame Nov. 10, when the Irish host Florida State. Johnson, Rivals' No. 8 outside linebacker and No. 110 overall player in the class of 2020, does not hold an offer from Notre Dame, but he does have tenders from Minnesota, Iowa, Iowa State, Wiscon- sin, Nebraska, Northwestern and Purdue. — Corey Bodden and David McKinney RECRUITING NOTES
