NOVEMBER 2018 THE WOLVERINE 59 2018-19 BASKETBALL PREVIEW the rebounding end. We're really going to be a good rebounding team — that's something we're emphasiz- ing a lot." Building off of last year's historic success isn't going to be easy, but the team is excited with the potential of this year's version of the Wolverines. Depth and defense could make up for the offense lost. Barnes Arico said she sees a buzz around Michigan wom- en's basketball. It's evident on the re- cruiting trail, where the Wolverines are getting better recruits than ever. Losing a talent like Flaherty is hard for any program, but Barnes Arico thinks the page has been turned and that Michigan is capable of replacing a star, even one as transcendent as Flaherty. "There are 14 players coming to practice every day that are great players," Barnes Arico said. "It's not like we're starting over again. It's a culture. It's been built." ❏ Sophomore forward Hailey Brown started all 27 contests she appeared in last year and averaged 9.0 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
