"The crowd and fans were so electrifying." Isaac has now taken six visits to Penn State since March, more than twice as many as he's taken to any other school. He's considering an o8cial visit to LSU in the coming weeks, but we expect the Nittany Lions to seal the deal sooner rather than later. Four-star wide receiver David Bell of Indianapolis also took an o8cial visit that weekend, and just like everyone else, he spoke highly of the experience. "I'm glad I decided to come for that game. It was de6nitely better in person," Bell said. "Just to actually hear the fans and see how crazy they were every time a big play went o7, like when K.J. [Hamler] scored that long touchdown. The stadium was rocking." Like Pola-Gates, Bell is in no rush to make a decision. He has four additional o8cial visits planned to Purdue (Nov. 2- 3), Ohio State (Nov. 23-24), Indiana (Dec. 7-8) and Iowa (Dec. 14-15). The Boilermakers and Hawkeyes are be- lieved to be the top contenders. Penn State also improved its chances with Young, who is from Coatesville, Pa. There had been speculation in Au- gust that he was about to verbally com- mit to Rutgers, joining his brother Avery, a freshman on Chris Ash's team. However, when it became clear that he wasn't going to make a decision until late in the season or a9erward, the Lions began looking like serious con- tenders. "With this being my 6rst time there for a game, the atmosphere was de6- nitely crazy," Young said. "Just seeing all of those white pom-poms in the air and all of the support behind them, it was a cool experience for me to get down there and see everything. They also competed really well. It was good to see the game." Maybe most important was that Young didn't take an o8cial visit that weekend. Because it was an uno8cial visit, the sta7 will be able to host him again for either the game next month against Wisconsin or in December. ■
