even Zack Kuntz? STRANGE They always want to put their best playmakers on the 0eld, and I have to prove to them that I'm one of those playmakers when I get there. BWI You were on the sideline before the Ohio State game. Considering the at- mosphere, what did the whole experi- ence mean to you? STRANGE It was pretty cool. They drove us from the Nittany Lion Inn to the stadium. Just all the fans out, past the Creamery. All the fans were packed there. It was pretty cool. I saw all the fans and stu1 like that. Then we went on the walk [for the team arrival] so we watched that and it was just cool to see. I loved that atmosphere of the game and everything. BWI Recapping your recruitment, you started to pick up o1ers during the spring and then added some more once you started taking camp visits. How has all that evolved over the past six months? STRANGE Going into summer, I think I only had a Rutgers o1er and an Albany o1er. I was pretty overlooked, in my eyes and a bunch of other people's eyes too. Then I went to a couple of camps and I started getting more looks. Then I just blew up. BWI Purdue was in the mix, since that was your 0rst o2cial visit back in June. What other schools did you consider and which schools did it come down to, in addition to Penn State? STRANGE My top schools were Penn State, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Pur- due. BWI Obviously, this game was against Ohio State. What were the dynamics, knowing both schools? STRANGE It just came down to how my 0t would be at the school, and I believe my 0t was better at Penn State. BWI Tell me about a3er the game. How long did you stay? If you were able to talk to the coaches before you le3, what was the mood? STRANGE We le3 Monday around 11 [a.m.] So Sunday night we did a photo shoot with some of the other guys on of- 0cials. A3er that, we had dinner in the stadium in the president's suite. We had dinner up there. It was pretty cool, and I had been thinking a3er Coach showed me the 0lm that I wanted to commit. I was just thinking that, and then a3er dinner we were getting ready to go with our hosts and I told Coach Bowen, I want to commit. I'm all in. … Me and Coach Bowen kept it to ourselves until Monday morning. A3er breakfast, we told Coach Franklin. BWI What was James Franklin's reac- tion? STRANGE He was just sitting down in this room and I came in and I was like, Coach, I want to commit. He was like, Are you serious? He's like, I didn't even have to throw you any catchphrases or anything. I didn't have to convince you. I was like, yeah, I'm all in. I'm ready to roll. ■ Now Open in Paterno Library tern tern a P w O w O o N no Librar no Librar Open in Open in ry y ry
