West Bloomfield (Mich.) High four- star safety Makari Paige Paige has said a few times that he's not receiving the full-court press from Michigan, but he does feel wanted by the staff. He paid close at- tention to U-M's defense during the Penn State game and left impressed. "I was really watching the type of defense they run," he said. "I saw a lot of man to man going on and a lot of cover 2. I saw that a lot with the safe- ties and the rover, going down to play man to man. Even on a guy like K.J. [Hamler], he's pretty fast and I still saw [Josh] Metellus covering him the whole game. It was a lot of fun to watch." As the friend, teammate and class- mate of 2020 inside linebacker and Michigan commit Cornell Wheeler, Paige is pretty much on U-M's radar by default. However, the No. 12 safety and No. 201 overall prospect nation- ally would be a great fit in Brown's aggressive defense because of his length at 6-3 and versatility across several positions in the secondary. Detroit Martin Luther King four-star wide receiver Rashawn Williams For a while it looked like Michigan would be on the outside looking in for Williams, but after his visit to Ann Ar- bor for the Penn State game the junior started speaking about U-M in a way that he never really has before. "When I was watching the game, it felt like I was in those situations," Williams said. "When they threw the ball to Donovan Peoples-Jones, I just visualized myself making the plays he made. "When they threw the ball to Nico Collins on the post, I thought, 'Dang, I could be in this situation, catching the ball and all the fans looking at me.'" The No. 4 wide receiver and No. 24 overall prospect nationally in the ju- nior class is also quite high on Ohio State. He was throwing up the block M before the game and spending a lot of time with 2020 cornerback and Michigan commit Andre Sel- don.
