J ames Franklin and his sta7 will once again see a healthy number of their Class of 2019 prospects graduate high school early so they can enroll at Penn State this coming January for the spring semester. A year ago, six members of the Nittany Lions' Class of 2018 enrolled early, as cor- nerback Trent Gordon, safety Isaiah Humphries, tight end Zack Kuntz, defen- sive end Nick Tarburton and linebackers Jesse Luketa and Micah Parsons all ar- rived in University Park in January to begin their college careers. The two pre- vious classes were similar, with four play- ers from each of those groups enrolling early. O7ensive lineman Connor McGov- ern (2016), wide receiver K.J. Hamler (2017) and safety Lamont Wade (2017) were among the players who made the decision to accelerate their high school coursework in order to get a head start on college and take part in winter workouts and spring practice. Now, it appears as though the Nittany Lions will welcome their biggest group of early enrollees to date, as 10 of the 17 players who had verbally committed as of early November had already con6rmed that they plan to be on campus in just about two months for the start of the spring semester. Included in that group are both of Penn State's committed quarterbacks: Michael Johnson Jr. and Taquan Rober- son.
