76 ■ THE WOLFPACKER
Woodall went 9-10 with a 3.31 ERA in
29 games (18 starts), while Wallace went
11-17 with a 3.34 ERA in 40 games (31
starts). The latter will need to work on her
control after walking 118 batters and hit-
ting 35 in 194
2
⁄3 innings.
"With our returners, as well as Sydney
Nester coming in, I think pitching will be
a strong suite for us," Patrick-Swift said.
"The addition of pitching coach Chelsea
Wilkinson has been huge.
"She has done a lot with the pitch-
ers already in a short time. I would look
for major improvement for numbers and
wins."
Sophomore infielder Chandley Garner
led NC State in the power department last
year with 11 home runs and 31 runs batted,
and she was fourth on the team with a .276
batting average.
Junior catcher/infielder Haylee Kobziak
is the top returning hitter, finishing second
on the squad with a .288 batting average to
go along with six home runs and 18 RBI.
"We are trying to work through some
things with Garner's swing to get her even
more home runs," Patrick-Swift said.
The Wolfpack didn't have anyone hit
over .300 last season.
