M . | J A N . 3 | C R I S L E R A R E N A | E S P N | T V T B A | The Nittany Lions will resume their Big Ten season a3er the start of the new year with a visit to one of the Big Ten's most inhospitable venues. Penn State hasn't fared well in Ann Arbor over the years. Starting with a 32-11 loss in 1929, the 1rst-ever game between the future conference rivals, Penn State has gone 2-20 in the Wolverines' lair. Its only road victories in the series were in 1999 (78-72) and 2010 (55-51). Michigan looks as for- midable as ever this season. The Wolverines were ranked 13h in the country as of mid- December with an 11-0 record that included double-digit wins over Purdue, North Carolina and defending national champ Villanova. Penn State has lost 12 of its past 13 meetings with Michigan, with that lone victory coming in February 2013, an 84-78 stunner at the Bryce Jordan Center in which the Lions outscored the fourth-ranked Wolverines 33-12 over the 1nal 10 minutes. Since that remarkable night, PSU has lost seven in a row to Michigan. But a new year brings new hope, and Lamar Stevens, Mike Watkins and company will be looking to get this one started o2 right. A road victory over one of Penn State's most vexing rivals would certainly 1t the bill. –M.H. SCORECARD
