James Franklin has already imprinted on him, it's that he needs to be ready to com- pete when he arrives on campus in Janu- ary as an early enrollee. "I just plan to come in and continue doing what I've been doing at Lack- awanna," Whigan said. "I know I have to continue working on my strength. I'm looking forward to winter workouts and everything that their strength coaches can do for me. But I want to succeed on the #eld and o$ the #eld, especially in the classroom. Coach Franklin is always talk- ing about competing in everything you do. That's what I plan to do." Regardless of how his FBS career pans out, Whigan already understands the role football has played in his life. He's also out to prove that his time in junior college has put him in a position to not just succeed on the field, but in life. "It was de#nitely a blessing in disguise. That place really changed me for the bet- ter," Whigan said. "I matured so much in the past two years. They showed me how to work hard in everything I do. They put a lot of time and work into me, making sure I improve in every aspect of life.
