T H E C L A S S O F 2 0 1 9 >> WHAT HE DID Before his senior season, Beamon transferred to Manchester High School in Midlothian, Va., and it proved to be a wise decision. He totaled 45 tack- les in his ;nal high school season, includ- ing 16 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks. Beamon was the best player on a defense that allowed only 4.6 points per game in helping li> the Lancers to a Class 6A state championship. Prior to enrolling at Man- chester, Beamon attended L.C. Bird High, where he played football and basketball and also threw the shot put for the track and ;eld team. Last spring, he helped Bird claim the Class 5 state title in outdoor track and ;eld. WHAT HE WON Following Manchester's 15-0 state championship season, Beamon was named the Region B Defensive Player of the Year and was also part of USA Today's All-USA Virginia team. In De- cember, he was invited to play in the World Bowl in Mexico. Rivals.com awarded Beamon three stars and ranked him the No. 47 strongside defensive end in the country and the No. 17 overall prospect in Virginia. WHERE HE VISITED Beamon committed to North Carolina before switching his al- legiance to Penn State in early June.
