HE DID
Playing a hybrid outside
linebacker position, Brisker totaled 64
tackles this past season, including 17
tackles for loss. He also had nine sacks,
;ve pass breakups and one forced fumble,
and he returned a fumble for a touch-
down. Brisker ranked among the top 25
junior college players in the country in
2018 in tackles and sacks. His perform-
ance helped Lackawanna ;nish with an
11-0 record, as the Falcons went unde-
feated for the ;rst time in school history.
In addition to winning the Northeast
Football Conference title, they topped
defending National Junior College Ath-
letic Association champ Arizona West-
ern, 17-10, in the El Toro Bowl in
December. Those performances earned
Lackawanna a No. 6 overall ranking in the
;nal NJCAA poll. A year earlier, Brisker
was used exclusively at safety and totaled
54 tackles, including 4.5 tackles for loss,
four interceptions and four pass
breakups. A native of Pittsburgh, Brisker
was a three-year letterman and two-time
captain at Gateway High in Monroeville.
As a senior, he tied the school record with
42 catches for 781 yards and 11 touch-
downs.
WHAT HE WON In addition to being
named the Defensive MVP of the El Toro
Bowl, Brisker was Defensive Player of
the Year in the NEC and a first-team
All-Conference selection. During the
2018 season, he was named NEC Player
of the Week three times. Rivals.com
gave him a three-star rating and ranked
him the No. 19 juco prospect in the
country. At Gateway, he was named to
the Class 5A All-State team by Western-
PAFootball.net.
