Men's Gymnastics (6-1 overall, 2-0 Big Ten) The Wolverines began their conference season with victories over a pair of ranked foes, defeating No. 7 Min- nesota 413.150-408.300 Jan. 26 and No. 8 Ohio State 413.900-402.700 Feb. 2 … Senior Emyre Cole was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week Feb. 5 after earning the all-around title with an 84.10 — the third-highest score in the NCAA this season — versus the Buckeyes … At the Winter Cup Chal- lenge Feb. 18 in Las Vegas, sophomores Jacob Moore and Cameron Brock placed second on floor exercise and third on pommel horse, respectively … As of Feb. 18, RoadToNation- als.com had the Wolverines as the No. 3 team in the nation. Men's Swimming And Diving (7-1 overall, 4-1 Big Ten) The No. 4 Wolverines defeated Michigan State 131-67 Feb. 8, winning every single event on their way to their 41st con- secutive victory over the Spartans … Junior Alex Martin was named Big Ten Swimmer of the Week Feb. 13, after winning the 100-yard butterfly (48.65) and contributing to wins on the 200-yard medley relay (1:29.30) and 400-yard freestyle relay (3:01.73) versus the Spartans … Redshirt junior Collin DeShaw was named Big Ten Diver of the Week after winning the three- meter springboard (372.07) against MSU and surpassing the NCAA Zone Diving Championship qualifying standard. Women's Swimming & Diving (8-0 overall, 5-0 Big Ten) The No. 2 Wolverines defeated Michigan State for the 32nd straight time, registering a 117-81 triumph Feb. 8 … Senior Siobhán Haughey won Big Ten Swimmer of the Week for the third time this season Feb. 13, after capturing the 100-yard freestyle (49.04) and 200-yard individual medley (1:58.88) versus the Spartans … Rookie Maggie MacNeil earned her sixth Big Ten Women's Swimming Freshman of the Week ac- colade by winning the 50-yard freestyle (22.72) and 200-yard backstroke (1:55.39) against MSU … It marked MacNeil's first time swimming the 200-yard backstroke this season, and her time puts her eighth among all Big Ten swimmers in 2019. Women's Tennis (3-1 overall, 1-0 Big Ten) U-M knocked off No. 12 Ole Miss 4-0 Jan. 27, defeated Michigan State 6-1 Feb. 2 and then topped No. 6 Texas 6-1 Feb. 3 … Senior Kate Fahey was named the Big Ten Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week for the fifth time in her career Feb. 5, after going 4-0 against the Spartans and Longhorns … The Wolverines were ranked No. 13 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association as of Feb. 18. Men's Tennis (5-2 overall, 0-0 Big Ten) The Wolverines were 1-1 against ranked opponents, losing 4-1 to No. 11 Baylor Jan. 27 and defeating No. 18 Oklahoma 4-2 Feb. 2 … Sophomore Mattias Siimar earned Big Ten Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week honors Feb. 12 after helping U-M defeat Washington 5-2 Feb. 8 and Central Florida 6-1 Feb. 10 … Siimar upset UCF's No. 17-ranked Gabriel Decamps 6-0, 6-2. Men's Indoor Track and Field Senior Joe Ellis was named the Big Ten Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this season Feb. 13 … At the Vanderbilt Music City Challenge Feb. 8-9, he surpassed his season's best mark in the weight throw three different times before earning a final mark of 77 feet, 3.5 inches to finish runner-up to professional Grant Cartwright, who is a volunteer assistant for the Wolverines … Ellis' performance earned him the No. 2 ranking in the country as of Feb. 18. Women's Indoor Track and Field At the Notre Dame Alex Wilson Invitational Feb. 16, Michi- gan's quartet of sophomore Alice Hill, sophomore Chloe Foster, freshman Aurora Rynda and fifth-year senior Hannah Meier ran the fastest distance medley relay in the history of the Big Ten Conference … Their time of 10:54.47 was the best in the nation this season and just the 15th sub-10:55 perfor- mance in collegiate history … At the Music City Challenge Feb. 9, Meier ran one of the nation's quickest miles (4:34.66). Water Polo (6-5 overall, 0-0 CWPA) Freshman Abby Andrews was named Collegiate Water Polo Association Rookie of the Week both Feb. 5 and Feb. 12 … Andrews posted five goals and six assists at the Stanford Invitational Feb. 2-3 in Palo Alto, Calif., and then tallied six goals, eight assists and seven steals at the Triton Invitational Feb. 9-10 in San Diego.
