On Feb. 24, T.J. Warren became the latest
NC State basketball player immortalized at PNC
Arena in Raleigh. His No. 24 will hang from
the rafters, honoring the 2014 ACC Player of
the Year. Warren set a school record with 871
points that season and averaged 24.9 points
per contest. He scored 40-plus points in back-
to-back games at one point during the season.
Warren is the fifth No. 24 to be honored at
State — joining Tommy Burleson, Tom Gug
-
liotta, Julius Hodge and John Richter. That
number
was also worn by his father, Tony
Warren Sr., at NC State. Warren's father (red
hat), mother, AAU coach Dwayne West and
NC State director of athletics Debbie Yow
joined Warren at the ceremony.
"My dad played a huge factor [in picking
NCSU], and was one of the reasons I chose
No. 24," Warren said. "There is a lot of his
-
tory behind that number. I was glad to wear
it here."
