But the Big Ten season 9g- ures to pose a much bigger challenge. The Lions have not beaten the Terrapins in coach Je: Tambroni's eight years in University Park, nor did they ever beat the Terps under Tambroni's predecessor, Glenn Thiel, or under Thiel's predecessor, Dick Pencek. The last time they did pull o: a win in this series was 1920. Their 3-2 victory that year is one of only two they've managed in this 42-game series, with the other coming in 1916, the 9rst year the two schools faced each other in lacrosse. Maryland has played for the national championship 9ve of the past eight seasons, claiming the title in 2017 with a victory over Ohio State. Ranked third in the country as of early March, this year's Terps are looking like strong contenders to bring home their fourth national crown. The Lions, meanwhile, are looking for their 9rst. They'll have a chance to show o: their championship potential during their visit to College Park. –M.H. SCORECARD his values and work ethic that drew us to him as the successful candi- date." Sidwell helped secure a $15 million gi; that supports USF's 9rst-ever fa- cilities master plan and will assist in renovating War Memorial Gymna- sium, the home for several teams, in- cluding men's and women's basketball. Among the projects com- pleted under his watch was the Benedetti Diamond, which provides the USF baseball program with one of the premier facilities on the West Coast. Prior to his tenure at San Francisco, Sidwell served as associate athletic director for development and execu- tive senior associate athletic director at Syracuse, leading all external op- erations and playing a large role in raising $106 million during his tenure.
