The NHL CARL HAGELIN TRADED FOR SECOND TIME THIS SEASON On Feb. 21, the Los Angeles Kings traded left winger Carl Hagelin to the Washington Capitals, mark- ing the second time this season the 30-year-old had been moved (he was shipped from the Penguins to the Kings Nov. 14). "We are pleased to welcome Carl to our organization," Capitals general manager Brian MacLellan said fol- lowing the move. "We felt this trade enables us to add depth up front and provides us with a veteran player who has a tremendous amount of speed to help us on the penalty kill." Through 11 games with his new club, Hagelin has racked up two goals and three assists (as of March 17). Jabrill Peppers • NFL The safety was traded from the Cleveland Browns (along with the club's first‑round pick and its second third‑round selection) to the New York Giants March 13 in a blockbuster deal that saw Cleveland receive wideout Odell Beckham Jr. Peppers had spent both of his professional seasons with the Browns, and posted 79 tackles, one sack and one interception in 2018. Devin Funchess • NFL The Indianapolis Colts made wide receiver Devin Funchess their first free agent signing of the 2019 offseason March 11, inking the former U‑M tight end/wideout (2012‑14) and Carolina Panther (2015‑18) to a one‑year deal.
