to see who could earn the first official visit, and based on the efforts of his primary recruiter, Tony Alford, teamed up with Chuck Martin and Brian Kelly, Notre Dame became the winner. He traveled to campus for the Football Awards Show over the weekend of Dec. 7 … He offered his pledge before leaving South Bend and stayed to his word despite a brief flirtation with Auburn, signing with the Irish over the main competitor — South Carolina. Why He Chose Notre Dame: "I chose Notre Dame for the education and limited distractions. It's a place that's going to help me grow for my life after football. … The offense played a good part in my decision, too. … I want to come in and make something happen right away and just be a part of it. … I'm ready to battle for a spot." Jason Sapp's Scouting Report: Physical back that is capable of setting up the defender quickly with his lateral movement and lowering his shoulders to run through a tackle … Determined to hit pay dirt on every carry and works to get north and south … A weapon in the screen game due to catching ability and decision-making … A strong core and lower body coupled with an aggressive style of play make him a down-to-down style of back. 2013 Projection: Bryant decided to join the Irish class with a main plan in mind — become a contributor early and often. With the departures of Theo Riddick and Cierre Wood, there's an opportunity in the Irish offense, and this touted back has full intentions of making an argument for why a number of those reps should be his. An underrated part of his game is his blocking ability in the passing game and that could be his quickest path to the field considering it's an uncommon trait in younger players. He also has good hands.
