com … Listed as a four-star prospect, the No. 10 recruit in Texas, the No. 12 wide receiver in the country and the No. 95 overall player nationally by ESPNU. Statistics: Made 71 grabs for 1,235 yards and 14 touchdowns as a senior … Caught 43 passes for 749 yards and 11 scores as junior in 2011 … Notched 15 receptions for 200 yards and four touchdowns as a sophomore. Honors: Named to Waco Tribune-Herald Top 50 in 2012 … An Associated Press second-team, Class 4A all-state pick … Chosen as his district's Newcomer of the Year in 2010 … Named district MVP as a junior and senior. All-Star Games And Camps: Participated in Nike's "The Opening" in 2012 and was named the seven-on-seven MVP … Selected for U.S. Army All-American Bowl, but suffered broken leg while practicing with West squad. Brian Kelly's Comments: "The care and the commitment that he has … here's a guy that's only going to get better and physically develop. We think he's got that burst that ability to take it and go from anywhere on the field. We think he's an inside guy that can really make a difference for us within our offensive structure. He has just a great family and is a great young man." Prosper High School Coach Kent Scott's Comments: "I'm partial, and I think he's better than what they've got him rated. As a young man and a human being, he's the best one out there. If there is a young man that is capable of working through those kinds of setbacks and adversity, he is the one. He's a fighter; he's a good one." Tom Lemming Of Prep Football Report: "He's a solid wide receiver with good speed, but not great speed. He has good size, but not great size. He fits into what Notre Dame has now. They don't have a go-to guy unless Daniels gets smart, because he has go-to ability. Hunter's stats are good. He is a good, solid wide receiver, but he is not spectacular. Prosper plays good, but not great, teams in that area." Recruitment: Recruited by Notre Dame co-defensive coordinator and cornerbacks coach Kerry Cooks … Attended Notre Dame's Junior Day on March 4, 2012, and was offered a scholarship by the Irish four days later … Made an unofficial visit to South Bend on July 26, 2012 … Official visit came on Sept. 22 for the Michigan game, and he gave his verbal pledge to the Irish the following day … Had offers from 15 other programs, including Alabama, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Nebraska and Stanford. Why He Chose Notre Dame: "Really it was just the atmosphere. I knew what I wanted academically, and Notre Dame had it. I just wanted to see what a game-day atmosphere was like, and that sealed the deal." Jason Sapp's Scouting Report: Gets up field quickly and has the speed to run away from the defender after the catch … Adjusts well to the ball and looks the ball into his hands … Boldly goes over the middle to make a play despite being smaller in size … His elusiveness causes pursuing defenders to miss … Accustomed to playing with left-handed quarterback, which is what 2013 quarterback Malik Zaire is … Protects the football well and can make plays from different positions, including lining up at cornerback. 2013 Projection: Hunter suffered a broken femur while in San Antonio for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in January, and he'll need time to recover. He's optimistic that he'll be ready to play come fall camp, but that might be a little too optimistic.
