The key for Kinlaw is to get healthy and stay healthy. As a junior in 2011, the two-way player broke his right leg and missed the final half of the season. He broke the same leg again, including ligament damage around his ankle, while practicing for the USA U-19 team in July 2012 leading up to his senior campaign. "I was just like, 'Not again,'" he said. "They had to push it back together with a plate and screws. The doctor said it had nothing to do with the first injury, but I'm guessing I got out of rehab too early the first time. I didn't have it strong enough to where it would be able to take the stress." National recruiting analyst Tom Lemming said that Kinlaw, who suffered a broken leg in each of his last two high school campaigns, is The time on the sidelines helped him study the cornerback position and prepare himself for whatever the college game throws at him. "Whatever adversity I face in college, I think it's going to help me," he said. "I think I might be able to draw on what happened, and it will help me get through it." ✦
