Mike McGlinchey Has Long-Range Abilities By Lou Somogyi National recruiting outlets have had Mike McGlinchey listed at 6-9. McGlinchey claims he's 6-8½. The Notre Dame list on signing day had him at 6-7½. Whatever the figure is, McGlinchey embodies the meaning of longrange potential, with the emphasis on long. Down the road, he could become the tallest starter at Notre Dame since 1983-86 defensive tackle Wally Kleine and 197881 offensive tackle Phil Pozderac, both of whom stood 6-9. When he enrolled in 2009 at William Penn Charter, a private school in Philadelphia with a rigorous academic program, McGlinchey was 6-6, but he was coordinated and skilled in the athletic arenas.
