they gave up a punt-return touchdown,
came up short on a fake punt, missed a
field goal and had another attempt par-
tially blocked.
There were some positives, too. K.J.
Hamler was one of the Big Ten's more
dangerous kicko; return specialists, av-
eraging 26.2 yards to rank seventh in the
conference. Also, freshman kicker Jake
Pinegar hit 16 of 24 attempts, and his
:ve makes from 40 or more yards (on 11
attempts) were the most in the Big Ten.
Nevertheless, Franklin was clearly dis-
satis:ed with the performance of the
kicking game. A
