Between the two of them and Mike Kwiatkowski, we got some production out of the position not as good as wed like, not awful. Theyre only going to improve. A.J. just needs to improve and get stronger, but hes got excellent feet. He can run and catch a little better than people think he can. Now what we need to do is get him physically to the point where he can put his hand on the ground and play down-in, down-out, and not only in there when youre going to throw the ball or faking runs. Ferrigno knows Funchess will continue to grow and get stronger. He weighs roughly 230 pounds now, but his position coach sees him moving toward every-down status. That will happen, because hes a very willing guy, Ferrigno said. Hes trying hard trying to put weight on, trying to get stronger, all those things. In the back of my head, I tell him someday he needs to be 250 pounds. He can carry that.He had a pretty good year, but he can improve so much. He knows that.
