������ inside michigan athletics Michigan���s Top Olympic Sports Performers Men���s gymnastics sophomore Stacey Ervin: The Troy, Mich., native helped lead the third-ranked Wolverines to a 10-point victory over No. 5 Ohio State Feb. 16 when he recorded a score of 16.15 on floor exercise. The mark represented a Michigan record and the top score by any gymnast nationally this year. Ervin also holds the No.��1 vault score in the country, with a tally of 15.400. Women���s golf sophomore Linda Luo: Returning to her home state, the Bradenton, Fla., native earned her fourth top-20 individual finish of the year when she carded a three-round, nineover-par 225 to place 18th at the Florida State Match Up Invitational Feb. 17. Luo, who has also placed third, sixth and 15th at tournaments this season, is averaging a team-best 75.67 strokes per round, with three of 18 rounds in her sophomore campaign of par or better. Men���s swimming and diving senior Sean Fletcher: When the Wolverines hosted the Michigan First Chance Meet Feb. 16-17, the Vienna, Va., native helped set a school and Canham Natatorium record in the 200-yard medley relay. Swimming his signature leg, the butterfly, Fletcher helped U-M to a final time of 1:24.69, eclipsing the Maize and Blue mark of 1:24.98 set in 2009, and the pool record of 1:25.85 (Indiana in 2008). Water polo senior Kiki Golden: Always one of Michigan���s top offensive performers, Golden has exploded out of the water this season, registering team highs in goals (23) and points (27) thru Feb. 18. The Danville, Calif., native scored a career-high 70 goals in 2012 and has 171 markers and 272 points in her four seasons. Golden is on pace to become just the fourth Wolverine in school history with 200 career tallies and 300 career points. Wrestling redshirt junior Eric Grajales: Michigan has been waiting for the standout talent to put it all together since his career began, and the Brandon, Fla., native appears to have figured it out, compiling a 20-5 overall record, including a 15-1 mark in dual matches, thru Feb. 18. Ranked No. 10 nationally in the 149-pound weight class, Grajales earned his most recent win when he avenged an early-season loss to Oregon State���s Scott Sakaguchi, who is ranked No. 7 in the country, with a 6-4 decision at the National Duals Feb.��17.
