Burned By Penn State, Ross Douglas
Finds A Home At Michigan
July 23 is a day that will live in infamy among those that don the blue
and white to cheer on Penn State.
For cornerback Ross Douglas, that
day changed everything. The 5-10,
180-pounder was committed to the
Nittany Lions for 144 days, believing head coach Bill OBrien when he
promised State College could deliver
the future, both in the classroom and
on the football field, that Douglas
had always envisioned. But when
the NCAA sanctioned the Penn State
program, Douglas felt betrayed.
To be honest, I had no idea what
to expect because the coaches just
sort of played it off like it was no big
deal, the Avon, Ohio, native said.
Douglas rushed for 1,349 yards and 24 touchdowns in leading Avon to an 11-2 overall record
and the quarterfinals of the Ohio Division II state playoffs, but he will play cornerback at U-M.
