Zinter of Cambridge, Mass., and Anton
Harrison of Washington, D.C., are also
still undecided, but it feels as if PSU has
cooled on Harrison in recent months,
while Notre Dame and Michigan are be-
lieved to be the frontrunners for Zinter.
Both Carmody and Fashanu want to
have their recruitments 9nished by the
start of the season. We won't rule out
the possibility that Penn State could sign
both of those players if it has the chance
to do so, but six seems more realistic.
DEFENSIVE TACKLE
PROJECTED TAKE 2-3
OUTLOOK Eight defensive tackles on
Penn State's 2019 roster hold at least
three more seasons of eligibility, so it
feels like the sta: will take two DTs this
year, possibly three. The Lions have al-
ready added Cole Brevard, and many be-
lieve that Coziah Izzard of Hyattsville,
Md., is trending in their direction. Iz-
zard has been to the University Park
campus six times now and has been fa-
voring the Lions for a few months. That
said, he wants to take a few o;cial vis-
its, notably to LSU, so his recruitment
may drag out a bit longer.
Isaiah Raikes of Richland, N.J.; Bryce
Austin of South9eld, Mich.; and Ty
Hamilton of Pickerington, Ohio, all vis-
ited Penn State this spring. Raikes has
been on campus a few times and would
be an excellent add, but he's also high on
Texas A&M. The Lions should be able to
add Izzard at some point in the coming
months. But if they do decide to take a
third, it's tough to predict who it will be.
DEFENSIVE END
PROJECTED TAKE 3
OUTLOOK Unlike at defensive tackle,
the Lions have just four defensive ends
with three more years of eligibility, so it
makes sense to sign three in 2020.
Heading into the summer, there are a
few potential candidates. Amin Vanover
of Montvale, N.J.; Brandon Taylor of
Lima, Ohio; and Zuriah Fisher of
Aliquippa, Pa., all not only visited this
spring, but also have the Lions high
among their favorite schools.
Taylor said in March that Penn State
was one of his top two or three schools,
but he's since added some very good of-
fers, including one from Michigan.
Vanover has said that Penn State is one
of his top schools, although he also ad-
mitted in late April that Georgia was his
favorite. Fisher has been tougher to read,
but contacts close to Aliquippa have
suggested that the Lions have a real
chance. This is another position where
the sta: still has plenty of work to do.
LINEBACKER
PROJECTED
TAKE
3
OUTLOOK Brent Pry's linebacker room is
already very competitive, and it will be-
come even better over the next year, as
the Lions already hold commitments
from Curtis Jacobs and Derek Wingo,
both of whom rank among the top 10
linebackers in the country. Even with
those two already part of the class, PSU is
still interested in adding a third line-
backer.
