152 ✦ BLUE & GOLD ILLUSTRATED 2019 FOOTBALL PREVIEW Michigan, Clemson, Georgia, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, North Carolina and several others. Ajavon took a low-key unofficial visit to Notre Dame on April 12 and committed soon after, making his pledge public on April 21, just after the completion of the 2018 Blue- Gold Game. Ajavon is humbled that in the fall he will enroll on scholarship at one of the foremost academic institutions in the country. He will join a strong safety depth chart at Notre Dame that includes fellow four-star 2019 signee Kyle Hamilton, as well as Alohi Gilman, Jalen Elliott, Derrik Allen and DJ Brown. SIGNAL-CALLER SHUFFLE Notre Dame kicked off its 2019 class on July 17, 2017, when Reno (Nev.) Da- monte Ranch four-star quarterback Cade McNamara announced his commitment to the Irish. With the cornerstone of its class seemingly in place, Notre Dame set to work finding prospects to surround McNamara. However, the story didn't end there. In the early months of 2018, McNamara started attracting more attention, landing post-com- mitment offers from the likes of Michigan, Alabama, Georgia and USC. With uncer- tainty floating around, the Irish commit took a few unofficial visits, including two to Ann Arbor. By March 2, 2018, McNamara had de- committed from Notre Dame. Two weeks later, he was in Michigan's class, leaving the Irish without a signal-caller for 2019. Name Pos. Ht. Wt. Hometown (High School) Kendall Abdur-Rahman WR 6-0 185 Edwardsville, Ill.
