26 ■ THE WOLFPACKER TRACKING THE PACK Ryan Held, Swimming The 25-time All-American and member of four national champion relay teams for NC State made noise July 31 when he won the 100-meter freestyle swim at the Phillips 66 National Championships in Palo Alto, Calif. The native of Springfield, Ill., set a championship and U.S. Open record in both the prelim and championship races, and his winning time of 47.39 seconds is the third fastest overall in Ameri- can history. He also owns the third fastest time in the world this year. Reid Johnston, Baseball The junior from Rocky Mount, N.C., was one of three Pack pitchers selected for the prestigious Cape Cod League, the premier summer showcase for college baseball players, and shined. He was named an all-star after posting a 0.52 earned run average in his first four starts. He had two more solid outings to head into the playoffs with a 2-0 record and 1.82 ERA, having surrendered just 22 hits in 24 2 ⁄3 innings while striking out 22. Johnston has gone 13-3 with a 3.41 ERA in two seasons for the Pack, making 24 starts and pitching in 38 games overall. Aislinn Konig, Basketball The senior from Vancouver, British Columbia, was selected for the Canadian Senior Women's National Team to participate in the 2019 Pan American Games, with her action beginning Aug. 6 in Lima, Peru. Konig played for the national team in a five-game European exhibition tour in June that included stops in Belgium and Great Britain. Two years ago, Konig helped the U-19 Canadian team medal for the first time ever at the FIBA U-19 World Cup by taking home the bronze. The sharp-shooting Konig set a school record with 93 made three-pointers last season. David Loera, Soccer After earning first-team All-ACC honors in 2018, the junior from Or- lando, Fla., has risen onto the national radar. He made the watch list for the MAC Hermann Trophy, the top individual honor in college soc- cer which is presented by the Missouri Athletic Club and the United States Soccer Coaches' Association. Only 36 players are on the watch list, and Loera is one of them because of his creative playmaking. He has started all 38 matches of his college career, and tallied four goals and 12 assists. Julia Poole, Swimming The junior from Cary, N.C., set a new school record in the 200 indi- vidual medley while finishing second in the prelims with a time of 2:13.02 Aug. 4 at the Phillips 66 National Championships. Then in the finals, she bettered that mark with a 2:12.53. That earned Poole a spot on the podium and a bronze medal. The race was Poole's specialty this past year. She won the ACC title in the 200 individual medley and finished 14th at the NCAA Championships to earn her first All-America accolade. ■ PACK PERFORMERS NC STATE GOLF www.TheWolfpackerOnline.com/store For Faster Service on Credit Card orders, call 1-800-421-7751 $ 229 95 FREE S&H Please add sales tax for delivery to: NC (7.5%), IN (7%) or MI (6%) Item #2118 Victory Golf Cart Bag Putting Green $44.95 w/Free S&H Available in two styles: #2253-WUF: Mr. Wolf Logo #2253-NCS: Block NCS Logo FREE DIVOT TOOL/ MARKER SET WITH ANY GOLF BAG PURCHASE! $21.95 Value!
