Rivers ranked fifth among field gener- als on the 2019 countdown, despite the fact that he'll turn 38 this December. NFL Network noted he was the league's fourth- oldest starting quarterback last fall, but also that he has more December wins than any other NFL QB over the last two seasons (eight). Only seven quarterbacks have made each of the past six countdowns, including both Rivers and Wilson. Wilson checked in 14 slots lower than the previous year despite arguably a bet- ter campaign. Still, it was his seventh ap- pearance on the list in seven professional seasons, and his sixth straight year in the top 25. "This is one of the more confusing drops in the top 100," NFL.com's Logan Reardon wrote. "Wilson was objectively better last season than in 2017. … He threw one more touchdown pass, four fewer interceptions and led the Seahawks back to the postsea- son after missing it in 2017." Seattle Seahawks star Russell Wilson com- bined with Philip Rivers to make NC State one of just three colleges with multiple quarter- backs on the NFL Network's top-100 list, and it was the only one with two ranked among the top 25 overall players.
