season. It won't be easy to 4ip Sampah, but his recruitment isn't completely 3n- ished. HENRY GRAY CB | Miami, Fla. | Central SCHOOLS Penn State, Alabama, Michi- gan, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas A&M THE LATEST Gray took an uno6cial visit to Penn State in June. It appeared as though the Lions were real contenders early in the summer, but he then went to The Opening Finals in Frisco, Texas, and told reporters that Michigan and Oregon were his top two schools. He's planning to take o6cial visits to Ann Arbor and Eugene. We'll keep an eye on Henry for an o6cial visit this fall, but it seems that Penn State has fallen behind. DARION GREEN-WARREN CB | Harbor City, Calif. | Narbonne SCHOOLS Penn State, Georgia, Michi- gan, Michigan State, Nebraska, USC THE LATEST Green-Warren committed to Oklahoma in July 2018 but backed out in March. Penn State has been stepping up its interest ever since. Green-Warren has already scheduled an o6cial visit for the Michigan game in October. He's also set to see Nebraska (Sept. 27-28) and Michigan (Nov. 29-Dec. 1). I have him listed as a cornerback, but Green-War- ren could also play safety at the next level. He's not planning to decide until December. RYAN WATTS CB | Little Elm, Texas | Little Elm SCHOOLS Committed to Oklahoma; considering Penn State and others THE LATEST Watts committed to Okla- homa in April following an o6cial visit to Norman and is still a member of the Sooners' class. But he took a few uno6- cial visits in June and will likely take a some o6cial visits this season. Texas A&M and Ohio State are both very much in the mix, but we know Terry Smith has also stayed on him through- out the summer. Nothing was set as of this writing, but we're monitoring Watts for an o6cial visit in September or October. ELIJAH GAINES Saf. | Brooklyn, N.Y. | Episcopal (Va.) SCHOOLS Penn State, Duke, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Virginia THE LATEST Gaines returned to Penn State early in June for an uno6cial visit. He also checked out North Carolina on the weekend of July 27-28. Gaines still has all 3ve of his o6cial visits to use, and those trips will likely have a big im- pact on where he ends up. That said, it's becoming clear that Penn State is in a good position. Michigan and Notre Dame have fallen o5 lately, which is why we think that Virginia and North Car- olina are now PSU's primary competi- tors. Nebraska is also stepping up its interest, and the Cornhuskers could earn one of those o6cial visits. Episco- pal plays most of its games on Satur- days, so Gaines may be forced to wait until December if he wants to see all of his top schools. MORDECAI McDANIEL Saf. | Washington, D.C. | St. John's College High SCHOOLS Penn State, Florida, Ten- nessee THE LATEST McDaniel rarely speaks with the media, so it's been di6cult to gauge where he may end up. Some re- porters in the D.C. region believe that Tennessee and Penn State are the two teams he's deciding between. There's also been talk that he's leaning toward Florida and Tennessee because he plans to run track in college and the South- eastern Conference is a track and 3eld powerhouse. We do know that McDaniel was planning to announce his decision on Aug. 21, so he will probably have committed by the time you read this. Nothing would surprise us. ■
