at The Opening camp in Ohio, turning in a 4.53-second 40-yard dash, 4.28-sec- ond shuttle run and 36-inch vertical jump. At the time, he had just one o6er, from Bu6alo. By the end of April, his scholarship count was up to 10. On May 5, Meiga attended The Opening in Washington, D.C., and ran even faster in the 40 (4.42 seconds) and the shuttle (4.19 seconds). Penn State extended its o6er 5ve days later, and Louisville, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech all o6ered within a week. A Montreal native, Meiga took his 5rst trip to Penn State on June 6. Not only did he perform well during testing, he was ar- guably the best receiver during one-on- ones. He committed to PSU on Aug. 1. The Lions received more good news when Holmes, a running back from Cocoa, Fla., announced that he, too, would be heading to Penn State. The 5-11, 181-pound prospect made his decision public on Aug. 8, but he committed to the coaching sta6 the previous week. "Coach [Ja'Juan] Seider and Coach [James] Franklin are good people. I know what they stand for," Holmes said. "Everyone is always going to say, 'Oh, it felt like home and it felt like family.' I feel that there, but honestly, I really just be- lieve that this is where I can go and make a real impact." ■ NAME POS HT WT RATING HOME SCHOOL Golden Achumba OL 6-4 320 ★★★★ Hyattsville, Md.
