The MLB FORMER WOLVERINES ON MLB ROSTERS Through Sept. 16 • Rich Hill (Played at U-M from 2000- 02), LHP, Los Angeles Dodgers: Re- turned from a forearm tendon flexor strain Sept. 12, but injured his knee early in his first start back … The Los Angeles Times reported two days later "the dam- age to the medial collateral ligament in his left knee … could be too much to overcome with so little time remain- ing in the season, the final one of his contract. But Hill, plucky and resilient, is determined to do everything he can to pitch again in 2019." … Has a 4-1 record and 2.68 ERA through 11 starts on the year. • Ryan LaMarre (2008-11), OF, Min- nesota Twins: Was traded from the Braves, where he was playing in the mi- nors, Sept. 8 and has appeared in four games, his first time in the majors this season, already with his new club … Was hitless in five at-bats, but did walk once. • Clayton Richard (2005), LHP, Free Agent: Battled injuries all year and was eventually released by the Blue Jays on Sept. 12 … Held a 1-5 record and a 5.96 ERA in 10 starts and 45 1 ⁄3 innings this season. ❑ Dylan Larkin • NHL This preseason, NHL.com ranked its top 20 centers going into the 2019-20 campaign. Larkin did not make the cut, but was listed among the honorable mentions. "In his fourth NHL season, Larkin led the Red Wings in goals (32), assists (41), points (73) and penalty minutes (75), and scored seven power-play goals and two shorthanded goals in 21:51 of ice time, best among Detroit forwards," they wrote. "The 23-year-old also won 54.5 percent of face- offs and was the first Red Wings player to score at least 30 goals since Marian Hossa (40), Johan Franzen (34), Pavel Datsyuk (32) and Henrik Zetterberg (31) in 2008-09." Jacob Trouba • NHL The New York Rangers' defenseman checked in at No. 15 on NHL. com's countdown of the top 20 players at his position. "Trouba had his most productive season in the NHL in 2018-19, when he had 50 points (eight goals, 42 assists) for the Winnipeg Jets, including 18 on the power play after he had 20 in his first five NHL seasons combined," the site wrote. "The 25-year-old was traded to New York on June 17 and agreed to a seven-year contract July 19." Zach Werenski • NHL The Columbus Blue Jackets' defenseman ranked No. 20 among players at his position on the NHL.com countdown. The 2017 final- ist for the Calder Trophy, annually given to the league's top rookie, scored 44 points (11 goals and 33 assists) last year and added an- other six (one goal, five assists) in 10 playoff games. "He's going to be, within a couple years, top 10, there's no doubt about it," NHL Net- work analyst Ken Daneyko said.
