P enn State has added another prospect to its next recruiting class. Caleb Dorsey, a 6-foot-8, 220-pound forward from Pottstown, Pa., announced via so- cial media in late August that he plans to continue his career at PSU. The Nittany Lions were able to land Dorsey's commitment even as he was re- ceiving interest from Georgetown and Yale, both of which he visited last month. The Rivals.com three-star prospect also took an unofficial visit to Penn State on Aug. 6. Dorsey, who is getting set for his senior season at The Hill School, is the second prospect in Penn State's Class of 2020, joining three-star shooting guard Dallion John- son. Johnson committed in July. Rivals.com national recruiting analyst Corey Evans described Dorsey as a strong addition to the Lions' class and a good fit for coach Patrick Chambers' system. "Caleb is a mismatch in the frontcourt and is just the type who has gone on to find success in Happy Valley," Evans said. "He's not the most skilled of forwards but he does possess a good feel and IQ for the game. "His greatest value is how he shoots the ball. He's a quality catch-and-shoot guy from 22 feet who seemingly finds a way to get into open spots off the ball. He's a de- cent athlete who has the potential to guard multiple positions and should find a way to impact Penn State basketball with his toughness, versatility and shot- making prowess." With Dorsey's commitment, the Nit- tany Lions are expected to have one re- maining open scholarship to be filled for the 2020-21 season. KASATKIN DEPARTS Daniil Kasatkin will not return to Penn State this season, hav- ing chosen instead to pursue a profes- sional playing career. From Vichuga, Russia, Kasatkin played for the Russian U20 national team this past summer and contributed to the squad's semifinal ap- pearance in the 2019 FIBA U20 European Championships. "D.K. took a unique path when he left Russia to come to the United States and play basketball," Chambers said. "He had an exceptional work ethic and helped make our team better. We're excited for him in his decision to play professionally and look forward to seeing him excel in his career." Kasatkin appeared in only three games for the Lions last season and did not score. But he was a key player for the Russian U20 team, averaging nearly 20 minutes a game in seven games for the top-scoring squad in the tournament and leading Russia in assists with six in a 90- 69 victory over Iceland. ■ Pottstown forward is second to join Lions' class | M E N ' S B A S K E T B A L L DORSEY Saturday games, visit to Palestra highlight PSU's upcoming slate Nine games at the Bryce Jordan Cen- ter and a "home" date at the Palestra in Philadelphia comprise Penn State's Big Ten home schedule for the 2019-20 season. In August, the Big Ten released the full 20-game slate of league games, which includes four Saturday home games at the BJC. The Lions will open their conference schedule with a trip to Ohio State on Dec. 7. Three days later, they will play host to Maryland in the first game of a four-game homestand. With the dates now set for the two December Big Ten games, the date of the Penn State-Al- abama game has been finalized. The Nittany Lions will face the Crimson Tide on Dec. 14 at the BJC. The Palestra will serve as the venue for the Nittany Lions' first game of 2020, as the team will play host to Iowa on Jan. 4. It will be the Lions' second visit of the past four seasons to the iconic basket- ball landmark, as they played Michigan State there in January 2017, defeating the Spartans, 72-63. Ticketing informa- tion for the Iowa game has not yet been announced, but season-ticket holders will receive first priority. After the Penn State-Iowa game in Philadelphia, a home-and-away pattern of games will continue through January, starting with Penn State at Rutgers on Jan. 7. The Nittany Lions welcome Wis- consin on Jan. 11 for the first of four Sat- urday games in the BJC. Penn State makes a midweek trip to Minnesota on Jan. 15 and returns home for a Jan. 18 matchup with Ohio State. The Nittany Lions go back on the road for a Jan. 22 game at Michigan and close out the month with a Jan. 29 home game vs. Indiana. The Nittany Lions play back-to-back games on the road to open February, first at Nebraska on Feb. 1, and then at Michigan State on Feb. 4. Minnesota visits the BJC on Feb. 8, and then the Nittany Lions visit Pur- due on Feb. 11. Penn State plays a sec- ond consecutive home weekend game on Feb. 15 when the Nittany Lions host Northwestern for the first time in 2019-20. The lone meeting of the year between Illinois and Penn State takes place in the BJC on Feb. 18. The Nittany Lions crisscross Big Ten country, venturing to Indiana for a Feb. 23 game and returning to Happy Valley for a Feb. 26 home game vs. Rutgers. The final flight of February sends Penn State to Iowa on Feb. 29. Penn State's final home game brings Michigan State to the BJC for a March 3 matchup. The Big Ten regular-season fi- nale puts Penn State at Northwestern on March 7, before the Big Ten tournament in Indianapolis from March 11-15. ■ T H E S C H E D U L E
