Where has that been all year? Ev- ery great spread offense involves a significant dose of passing plays that put minimal physical and mental bur- den on the quarterback, and instead just involve quickly getting the ball to your most athletic players and giving them a chance to do their thing. 'Din- king and dunking,' if you will. It's essential to counter pass rush pressure, and also just to making your QB's life a little more manageable. I'm simultaneously thrilled that we finally seem to be rolling out that ele- ment of the offense (with some solid success against a quality opponent, no less) and also infuriated that it has been completely and totally absent until this point. wolverineluke • Yes, there were some bad calls that didn't go our way. Hey, that's part of the game. Great teams can overcome penal- ties, dropped passes and/or bad calls to win. Bad teams dwell on those mis- takes. We're not good enough to over- come them. It's that simple. alanc478 • This team showed it didn't dwell. And it clearly made enough mistakes to cost them the game. The officiating was horrid, and that's not an excuse. Brockman26 • We didn't get a turnover. That weighed heavily against us. david1055 • While we definitely got the short end of the stick on the officiating, we were still in position to tie the game late and couldn't do it. And then we couldn't stop Penn State on third-and- three with the chance to get the ball one last time. The officiating was not directly responsible for either out- come. The game was ours for the tak- ing, and we couldn't quite finish it. dangoldss • The officiating obviously left much to be desired. But for every bad call, you have an idiotic penalty or a dropped pass by a receiver or a Penn State player running free behind our secondary. Truth is, neither the players or the officials are ever going to be perfect, but both played a part in the loss. indexmike • There was an energy in this team in the second half that wasn't there all year. sdhoenshell • Agreed. I saw a team I am proud to be a fan of. That's been missing for a while, but I was proud of our fight back last night. wiedster9 • If [Jim] Harbaugh indeed turns this program into what we hope, we will all look back on halftime of this game as the moment it took off. Interest- ingly, I look back at halftime of Penn State in 2010 as the moment I knew there was no more hope at all for Rich Rodriguez.
