M . | N O V . 1 0 | B R Y C E J O R D A N C E N T E R | B T N This season is the start of a new era for Penn State women's hoops, and as such, the Lady Lions' 5rst home game of the year is a pretty big deal. The matchup against the Broncs will mark Carolyn Kieger's 5rst regular-season appearance in the Bryce Jor- dan Center as Penn State's coach. Kieger was hired in April a8er transforming Mar- quette into a Big East power over the course of 5ve seasons. In her 5nal three seasons, the Golden Eagles went 76-26 and made three NCAA tournament appearances. Kieger has promised an exciting, up-tempo brand of basketball at Penn State. Speak- ing at her introductory presser this past spring, she said, "We want to turn the Bryce Jordan Center into a track meet and run people o7 the 6oor." That's pretty much what the Lady Lions did to Rider in the teams' two previous meetings. Penn State won both of those games handily, thrashing the Broncs, 95-21, in November 2010, and winning again, 85-51, in December 2014. Rider's 21-point total in the 5rst of those games was the lowest in school history. Kieger's e7orts to remake the PSU pro- gram are sure to take time, but there's ample reason to feel con5dent that her project will get o7 to a winning start. –M.H.
