School Commits RECRUITING NOTES • Notre Dame's visit weekend for the USC game Oct. 12 was a huge suc- cess. The headline visitor was Ohio State graduate transfer safety Isaiah Pryor, who would have two years of eligibility left if he were to pick the Irish. Pryor will return to South Bend with his family for the Virginia Tech game Nov. 2, and all signs point toward him committing to Notre Dame in the near future. There were around 100 total prospects seated near the student section for the USC game. Not only did the Irish land two wide 2021 receiver com- mits (Lorenzo Styles and Deion Colzie), Notre Dame impressed some of its top targets. The standout 2021 offensive line tandem from Clarkston (Mich.) High of Rocco Spindler, the nation's No. 3 guard and No. 82 overall prospect ac- cording to Rivals, and Garrett Dellinger, Rivals' No. 31 tackle in the country, both raved about their visits to Notre Dame. "It went really well. It was definitely one of my favorite visits," Spindler told Blue & Gold Illustrated. "I got to build more of a relationship with the coaches and talked to the other recruits and commits." Matthews (N.C.) Weddington class of 2021 running back Will Shipley is an important recruit for the Fighting Irish, and he also loved his time at Notre Dame. It was his first time seeing South Bend, and the visit checked all of his boxes. "It was incredible," said Shipley, who is the No. 1 all-purpose back and No. 53 overall recruit nationally per Rivals. "My family and I enjoyed every little part. The experience was crazy good — one of the best visits I've had." • With the commitments of Colzie and Styles, Notre Dame's 2021 recruit- ing class ranking moved to No. 1 in the nation per Rivals, jumping past Texas, Miami and Ohio State. All seven of Notre Dame's commits in the 2021 class are ranked among the top 200 nationally. • Steilacoom (Wash.) High's Emeka Egbuka, the nation's top wide receiver and No. 12 overall prospect in the 2021 class per Rivals, listed Notre Dame as one of his top 10 schools Oct. 16. Alabama, Clemson, LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Stanford, USC and Washington also made the cut. "They play in the national spotlight every Saturday, all their games are televised, and that could get you in the eyes of NFL scouts," Egbuka told Rivals about why Notre Dame made his favorites list. "There's a lot of expo- sure from that place to possibly get drafted in a good position." — Mike Singer Follow @BGI_MikeSinger on Twitter for daily recruiting updates!
