20 NOV. 16, 2019 BLUE & GOLD ILLUSTRATED down on third-and- goal from the 6-yard line. Feature Performer: Notre Dame's de- fense, led by the versatile play of ju- nior rover Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, saw Duke twice start with a first down in Irish territory, first at the 40-yard line and then at the 48- yard line. It netted five yards on those four plays run, with Pride's interception especially pivotal. Stats: Notre Dame compiled 361 total yards (186 rushing and 175 passing) through three quar- ters while Duke had 175 (102 passing and 73 rushing). Items: Duke took possession at the N o t r e D a m e 4 8 - yard line after an Irish punt with the score still 28-7, and on fourth-and- three from the Notre Dame 25-yard line during that drive, senior defen- sive end Ade Ogundeji's pressure on Harris forced a hurried throw that senior cornerback Donte Vaughn knocked away near the three-minute mark. FOURTH QUARTER: NOTRE DAME, 38-7 Top Moment: Finke's 46-yard punt return to Duke's 13-yard line set up a two-yard touchdown pass from Book to sophomore tight end George Takacs with 7:21 left for the game's final score. Feature Performer: The Notre Dame defense never coasted or took the foot of the gas. After limiting Duke to only 123 yards in the first half, it permitted only 74 to the Blue Devils after the intermission. Stats: Although racking up yard- age in "garbage time" often occurs, the Blue Devils totaled only 22 yards in the fourth quarter. Items: A 53-yard run by Book on third-and-one set up junior Jonathan Doerer's 34-yard field goal with 12:38 remaining … Sophomore cornerback TaRiq Bracy recovered a Duke fum- ble to end a drive. ✦ NOTRE DAME 38, DUKE 7 Nov. 9, 2019 ✦ Attendance: 40,004 Wallace Wade Stadium ✦ Durham, N.C.
