BOSTON COLLEGE RUN DEFENSE Persistent injuries to the Notre Dame running backs and its offensive line have left the Irish run game the most inconsistent and hard to evaluate operation on the team. When this campaign finishes, the only time that Notre Dame's top two running backs — junior Jafar Armstrong and senior T.J. Jones — and the entire starting offensive line was healthy and playing to- gether will be the first quarter of the season opener against Louisville.
