IOWA 2 P . M . | J A N . 4 | T H E P A L E S T R A ( P H I L A D E L P H I A ) | B T N When you look at the talent that Penn State has recruited out of the Philadelphia area in recent years – Lamar Stevens, Tony Carr and Seth Lundy come immediately to mind – it's not hard to understand why coach Patrick Chambers wants his team to have a presence in the City of Brotherly Love. The Nittany Lions' upcoming game at the Palestra is their second visit to the legendary hoops mecca in the past four sea- sons. The Lions played Michigan State there in January 2017 and came away with a 72-63 victory. Stevens and Carr were freshmen at the time and were a big part of Penn State's win, combining to score 32 points. Carr only played one more season for the Lions before entering the NBA Dra7, but Stevens is still wearing blue and white and has become one of the Big Ten's best players, with a 16.7-point scoring average through PSU's 5rst 11 games this season. Win or lose, the game will likely bring back some fond memories for Iowa coach Fran McCa6ery. The Palestra was McCa6ery's home court during his playing days at Penn in the early 1980s. –M.H.
