Bartleson was named first- team All-State by MaxPreps. • Notre Dame's commits in the 2021 class had incredible junior sea- sons, including Tyler Buchner from La Jolla (Calif.) The Bishop's School. The 6-2, 210-pounder had a season that's hard to believe, completing 267 of 402 passes for 4,474 yards with 53 touch- downs and six interceptions for a QB rating of 137.2. He also added 128 rushes for 1,610 yards and 28 scores. Buchner won the 2019 Prep Pig- skin Report Silver Pigskin award pre- sented by KUSI News, which goes to the top player in the San Diego area. He is the first junior to win the award since Reggie Bush, who went on to win the Heisman Trophy at USC and play several years in the NFL. Buchner was also named California Interscholastic Federation San Diego Section Offensive Player of the Year. • Avon (Ind.) High's Blake Fisher, who is rated as the No. 4 offensive tackle and No. 18 overall recruit in the 2021 class by Rivals, was named to the Indiana Football Coaches As- sociation Top 50 2019 All-State Team. Fisher, who starred as a left tackle, was a big reason why Avon had a stellar 9-1 season. • St. Peters (Mo.) Lutheran of St. Charles defensive tackle Gabriel Rubio will play with Fisher in the Pro Football Hall Of Fame World Bowl in 2021. Rubio had a fantastic junior season, racking up 119 tackles and 18 sacks. He was named the Archdioc- esan Athletics Association (small divi- sion) 2019 Defensive Player of the Year. • Athens (Ga.) Academy's Deion Colzie was named the 2019 Georgia 8-A All-Region Athlete of the Year, an honor voted on by the coaches. Colzie has committed to play in the 2021 All-American Bowl. The 6-4, 205-pounder is listed as the No. 3 athlete and No. 72 overall recruit na- tionally by Rivals. He will play wide receiver for the Fighting Irish. • Lorenzo Styles, the No. 5 wide receiver and No. 34 overall recruit in America according to Rivals, was a do-it-all weapon for Pickerington (Ohio) Central's run to an Ohio Divi- sion I state championship. He was named Ohio All-Central District Di- vision One first team. • Hartwell (Ga.) Hart County tight end Cane Berrong will play in the 2021 Under Armour All-American Game. Berrong, who is rated as the No. 8 tight end and No. 215 overall prospect nationally by Rivals, was named to the 2019 Georgia 8-AAA All-Region first team. ✦ La Jolla (Calif.)
