WEB SURVEY THE MONTH IN... ASIDE FROM THE QB BATTLE, WHAT ARE YOU MOST EAGER TO SEE UNFOLD DURING THE BLUE-WHITE GAME? Can we stop the run? We are thin at linebacker, and most of the defensive line is unproven. Yes, Deion Barnes is a great pass rusher, but he must play the run better this season. sbmoney1 BLOGS The development of the secondary is going to be key. Finding out what we have behind Malcolm Willis and Stephen Obeng-Agyapong is important. We also have to find out who will play at corner opposite of Adrian Amos. Ctel12592 Easy. We have a boatload of tight ends. I am eager to see how Bill OBrien utilizes four tight ends. ... We shall see, but that is what I am most interested in. How to spread the offense with so many TEs. Husky OPINIONS My three-year-old son sitting through at least a full quarter. Aiming for three quarters next year, and possibly his first full regular-season game by 2016. Viennalion The numbers game created by the NCAA sanctions against Penn State and managed daily by head coach Bill OBrien and his staff is really starting to rear its ugly head. You could see it on the Nittany Lions practice field [on March 18], when they officially began spring drills. And you can see it when you scan the rosters of Penn States most punishing opponents on its 2013 Big Ten Conference schedule. MIKE POORMAN STATECOLLEGE.COM [David] Taylor didnt lose. He just didnt win. Wrestling fans did, however. The buildup to Dake/Taylor III was unreal. It was the chatter of every restaurant crowd, the buzz inside every corner bar that hung Save Olympic Wrestling! banners from their windows. It was speculated on, bet on, argued over by every person in [Des Moines, Iowa] for four straight days. TRAVIS JOHNSON CENTRE DAILY TIMES Im interested in seeing if there is any freshman or run-on depth at linebacker. Im comfortable with most other positions, although quarterback will be interesting, but at LB, we are one injury away from a problem. I hope Brandon Bell can help [when he arrives in the summer] and Im also hearing some of the run-ons might be pretty good. Other than that, can anyone be moved from another position? I would like to see some quality depth emerge. LAToner1 As Maggie Lucass mother held her daughter in her arms after a 71-66 upset loss to LSU on [March 26] in the second round of the Womens NCAA Tournament, Lucas might have been asking herself, What went wrong? The game will be replayed over and over in the minds of the coaches and players. Theres no escaping the agony of defeat. Theres no reset button. For now, this loss is the lasting image of the five seniors careers. And just like the heartbreak after a breakup, only time can heal it. ZACK NEINER THE DAILY COLLEGIAN After last year, I am eager to see how the running back position is handled. With Akeel Lynch in the mix and Bill Belton healthy, it will be interesting to see how Coach OBrien utilizes the three primary backs and their different strengths. cmjumper I would love to see another Aric Heffelfinger-type performance from a relative unknown or a possible run-on that we can all pull for. ... Aside from that, Im really looking forward to seeing the offensive line and the battle in the trenches with the defensive front seven. How much bigger, stronger, quicker and more consistent will the returning O-linemen be after a year under Mac McWhorters coaching and Craig Fitzgeralds training ? GulfCoastLion Dont be surprised to see Akeel Lynchs name become a common one in the coming weeks. He landed himself in the local papers after a criminal mischief charge in February, but it seems like hes overcome that and looks primed to have his name in the media for reasons on the field. A running back who redshirted last year, Lynch has four years of eligibility and is expected to make a solid dent in the rotation down the road. However, that impact could come sooner rather than JOHN MCGONIGAL BLEACHERREPORT.COM later. QUOTES Thats whats great about being a pioneer and being women of character and women of courage, to come to Penn State and to re-establish a tradition. Their spirits will live with us long, long after their days of wearing a Lady Lion uniform. I couldnt be prouder of them. COQUESE WASHINGTON ON THE FIVE LADY LION SENIORS
