WHITE MEN CAN JUMP
Former Fighting Irish standout Pat Connaughton — dressed as
Billy Hoyle, actor Woody Harrelson's character from the movie
"White Men Can't Jump" — shattered stereotypes while com-
peting in the 2020 NBA Slam Dunk Contest Feb. 15 in Chicago.
Connaughton — just the second ever Notre Dame player to
compete in the dunk contest, joining Orlando Woolridge (1984
and 1985) — nailed two creative dunks, receiving scores of 45 and
50 for leaping over the Milwaukee Brewers' 2018 National League
MVP Christian Yelich and his Bucks teammate Giannis Antetok-
ounmpo, but did not advance to the final. Miami's Derrick Jones Jr.
edged Orlando's Aaron Gordon in the final to take the title.
