THE BIG PICTURE
SUPER SENIORS
It's hard to find two teammates
more opposite than 6-0 point guard
Zavier Simpson (left) and 7-1 center
Jon Teske. But together they have
become the winningest players in
Michigan basketball history (108 ca-
reer victories, despite no postseason
in 2019-20) and helped successfully
transition the team from head coach
John Beilein to current leader Juwan
Howard.
Both players were honored on Se-
nior Night March 5, before an 82-58
win against Nebraska in the regular-
season home finale.
Simpson, a 2019-20 second-team
All-Big Ten selection by the coaches
and media, played in more games
than any other Wolverine in history
(146) and ranked third in the nation
(first among Power Five conference
players) with an average of 7.9 assists
per game.
Meanwhile, Teske played in 129
games and did not miss a game in
the last three years (a streak of 109
straight). He is the 29th Wolverine to
reach 600 career rebounds and ranks
fifth all time with 165 blocks, and
went from averaging 0.3 points per
game as a freshman to 11.6 this year.
