Glasgow spent the first four years of his NFL career with the Detroit Lions, starting 58 games (26 at center, 18 at left guard and 14 at right guard) during that span. Zach Putnam • MLB The 32‑year‑old relief pitcher signed a minor‑league deal with the Chicago White Sox March 3, in hopes of making the club's big‑ league roster at some point this season. Putnam has been hampered by injuries in recent years and hasn't pitched in the majors since 2017, but enjoyed outstanding 2014 and 2016 campaigns with the White Sox that saw him post 1.98 and 2.30 ERAs, respectively, out of the team's bullpen. De'Veon Smith • XFL The Tampa Bay Vipers running back's 365 rushing yards through five games led all XFL players when the league announced its sus‑ pension due to the coronavirus March 12. Smith's best performance of the season came in a 25‑0 win over the DC Defenders March 1 when he racked up 122 yards on 24 carries. HEADLINERS Former Michigan athletes in the news this month Connor, a left winger with the Winnipeg Jets, had 38 goals through March 11, tying him for the sixth most in the entire NHL.
