W H I T E 4 7 THE  GAME  AT  A GLANCE GOOD NEWS Watch out for these underclassmen. Jesse James might be unstoppable, Akeel Lynch could be a star, and that move to defense for Trevor Williams doesn't seem too bad after all. And, hey look, PSU landed another receiver recruit. Steve Manuel SPRING SHOWDOWN Blue topples White as Penn State's quarterback battle remains unsettled M AT T   H E R B | MATT@BLUEWHITEONLINE.COM If they'd known it was going to snow during their first spring game at Penn State, Steven Bench and Tyler Ferguson might never have signed with the Nittany Lions. Bench, a Georgia native and one of the team's biggest Twitter enthusiasts, began tweeting about the miserable central Pennsylvania weather as soon as winter set in. In fact, it was one of the few aspects of the game that could accurately be described as "hot." The weather certainly wasn't, with temperatures never getting out of the 40s. C O M BAD NEWS The main goal was to get through injury-free, but Zach Zwinak left after his second carry of the game. He was later seen with ice on his left hand. Other than that, a mid-game snow squall, and neither QB truly separating himself, it was a successful game to finish spring practice. THE TAKEAWAY The door remains open for Christian Hackenberg at starting QB. Other than that? Any more injuries, and this lineup could get awfully shallow.
