fighting words Wes morgan Irish Offense Has A Long Way To Go Junior quarterback Everett Golson struggled at times in the Blue-Gold Game April 20, but head coach Brian Kelly said he had a good spring overall. E verett Golson led the Irish offense for a handful of series in the Blue-Gold Game April  20, and they were as shaky as a game of Jenga played in a bus traveling the Bolivian Death Road. Still, there's a reason why parking is free and tickets cost just $15 for the annual event — it's a glorified practice. Notre Dame fans caught the junior quarterback on an off day. But it was just one day. It's funny how supporters go into the scrimmage saying whatever happens is basically inconsequential and that it's nearly impossible to gauge where the program stands before the freshman class even arrives on campus. When the first punt or pass is photo by bill panzica dropped, the first tackle missed and the first field goal sails wide, the sky begins falling in chunks the width of Touchdown Jesus' outstretched hands. Golson, entering his second year as the starter, was just 6-of-13 passing for 98 yards with an interception while clocking in for the first time publicly with a host of newer faces on offense. The Irish defense led the team to the BCS National Championship Game in 2012 and dominated the first glimpse of Brian Kelly Ball 4.0. It should be another menacing group this fall, but looking for it to secure 12 victories again this season is asking way too much.
