MAY/JUNE 2020 ■ 21 Now a couple months removed from the elation of a conference championship run and the pandemonium of a postseason cut short from a pandemic, Moore has finally had the opportunity to reflect on a magical year. "It was really, really special to end the sea- son that way, especially for our seniors to end their careers the way they did," the coach said. "That will be what I remember the most, that Sunday afternoon in Greensboro." Despite the sudden finish, Konig's time at NC State ended on a high note. After win- ning the final game of her collegiate career, she was named the ACC Tournament MVP and will pursue a professional playing ca- reer post-graduation. The conference championship gave NC State its first ACC title in one of the four highest-attended sports — football, men's basketball, women's basketball and baseball — since baseball in 1992. The Wolfpack finished the abbreviated 2019-20 campaign at No. 8 in the Associ- ated Press poll. It marked the program's second straight top-10 finish (it was No. 9 in 2018-19) and its best final ranking since 1990-91 (No. 7). Moore has returned NC State to national prominence and heights it hasn't seen since the Yow era. "We finished ninth in the country last year, eighth in the country this year," Moore said. "We're in the high cotton level now, it's tough out here." ■ Under head coach Wes Moore, the Wolfpack won its first ACC Tournament title in women's basketball since 1991 and finished in the Associated Press top 10 for a second straight season.
