United They StaND
On June 19, head coach Brian Kelly and
fifth-year senior defensive end Daelin Hayes
led a peaceful march along the Notre Dame
campus with the rest of the Fighting Irish
football team to promote awareness of social
injustice and the Black Lives Matter move-
ment (see more about this on pages 6-7).
An estimated crowd of 1,400 joined either
the march or listened to the speeches or
prayers from Kelly, Hayes and others. The
rally was a response to the May 25 arrest
and subsequent murder of George Floyd in
Minneapolis that then resulted in protests
throughout the country.
